Birds of prey
In the previous hunting year, 11 golden eagles, 19 white-tailed eagles and 26 goshawks were reported dead. In general, all reductions should be reported, but for various reasons this is not always done. The data for birds of prey in particular should be regarded as minimum figures.
Quota huntingQuota hunting on lynx takes place in February and March. The county governor administers the quota hunting of lynx. Anyone who meets the requirements can hunt lynx in areas where quota hunting is in effect. Shot under licenceThe authorities issue licences to shoot large carnivores in cases when it is necessary to reduce the growth of a carnivore stock to prevent them causing damage and loss of livestock. Shot as nuisanceThe authorities issue permits to shoot single animals of large carnivores killing or causing damage to livestock or domesticated reindeer. |
