Fewer new enterprises

In the fourth quarter of 2007, approximately 13 100 new enterprises were registered. Compared with the same period in 2006, this is a decrease of 4.5 per cent.

New enterprises, newly established enterprises and take-overs. 2001-2007

In total, about 53 300 new enterprises were registered in 2007, 3 per cent less than in 2006. Almost 92 per cent of new enterprises are newly established enterprises, whereas the remaining 8 per cent are take-overs.

Figures on new enterprises by economic activity code, legal form, county and municipality can be found in the StatBank. Stock of enterprises by 1 January 2001-2006 and enterprise dropouts in 2001-2005 are also available.
