Computer activities up NOK 5.6 billion

The total turnover for computer and related activities was NOK 36.7 billion in 1999, an increase of NOK 5.6 billion. Enterprises dealing with software consultancy and supply accounted for NOK 27.5 billion.

About 32 000 persons were employed by enterprises within computer and related activities, an increase of 5 000 persons. The number of persons employed in real estate, renting and business activities totaled 218 000 in 1999, up 10 per cent from 1998.

Of a total turnover of NOK 206 billion in real estate, renting and business activities, enterprises within the industry other business activities accounted for about 50 per cent or NOK 104 billion.
