Decrease in disposable income

Disposable income decreased by 9 percent in the second quarter of 2006 compared to the second quarter of 2005. The decrease in income is mainly caused by a reduction in dividend.

Wage income increased by 4,2 percent or NOK 8,4 billion from the second quarter of 2005 to the second quarter of 2006. Income related to wealth however was reduced with NOK 27 billion. This constitutes a decrease of 60 percent compared to the second quarter of 2005, which is caused mainly by reduced dividends. Expenditures related to wealth shows an increase with NOK 2,3 billion from the second quarter of 2005 to the second quarter of 2006. This is due to higher interest rates and increased household debt.
