About the statistical basis

The statistics cover employers' associations, national associations for wage earners and the umbrella organisations to which the individual organisations belong. Organisations that limit their activities to purely professional issues are not included in the statistics. The number of members in national associations for wage earners includes all registered members and thus also includes non-working students, pensioners etc. The statistics cover the number of members as at 31 December 2009.
