Decline in transport costs

The total cost index for road goods transport decreased by 0.3 per cent from January to February 2014. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 2.8 per cent.

A decline in wages, administrative costs, fuel costs, as well as capital costs led to a decline in the road freight transport cost index. The wage index fell by 0.4 per cent during the last month. Over the last twelve months this index has increased by 3.0 per cent.

Increased tyre costs

The tyre index increased by 0.8 per cent last month. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has grown by 6.4 per cent.

Decrease in capital costs

The index for capital costs decreased by 0.8 per cent from January to February 2014. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 2.9 per cent.

Increase in repair and service costs

The sub-index for repair and service costs increased by 0.5 per cent last month. In the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 3.5 per cent.

Decrease in fuel prices

The fuel index decreased by 0.4 per cent during the last month. From February 2013 to February 2014 this sub-index increased by 1.8 per cent.

Decrease in administration costs

The administration costs decreased by 0.3 per cent during the last month. Over the last twelve months this sub-index has increased by 2.6 per cent.
