Increase in transport costs

The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 0.5 per cent from December 2013 to January 2014. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 4.0 per cent.

The sub-index for ferry and road toll costs increased by 3.6 per cent in the last month. Over the last 12 months the sub-index has increased by 23.4 per cent.

Increase in fuel prices

The fuel index increased by 1.1 per cent during the last month. From January 2013 to January 2014 this sub-index increased by 3.6 per cent.

Increase in repair and service costs

The sub-index for repair and service costs increased by 0.9 per cent last month. In the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 3.0 per cent.

Increased tyre index

The tyre index increased by 0.6 per cent last month. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has grown by 5.6 per cent.

Increase in capital costs

The index for capital costs increased by 0.5 per cent from December 2013 to January 2014. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 2.8 per cent.

Increase in administration costs

The administration costs increased by 0.3 per cent during the last month. Over the last twelve months this sub-index has increased by 3.5 per cent.
