Cost index for road goods transport, Q1 2009

The fuel index decreased by 4.4 per cent during the last month. From March 2008 to March 2009 this sub-index has decreased by 18.2 per cent.

From February 2009 to March 2009 the index for capital costs decreased by 1.7 per cent, mainly due to a decrease in real interest rates. Over the last twelve months, this index, which is composed of depreciation and amortisation, interest costs and annual fees, has decreased by 3.6 per cent.

The tyre index increased by 1.1 per cent last month. Over the last twelve months this sub-index has grown by 11.4 per cent.
