Decrease in diesel prices
The total cost index for road goods transport decreased by 0.9 per cent from July to August 2008 mainly due to higher diesel prices. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 9.2 per cent.
The fuel index decreased by 5.7 per cent during the last month. From August 2007 to August 2008 this sub-index has, however, increased by 24.7 per cent.
Increased in capital costs
The sub-index for capital increased by 0.4 per cent last month, mainly due to a reduction in real interests rates. Over the last 12 months this index, which is composed by depreciation and amortization, interest costs and annual fees, has increased by 5.1 per cent.
Increase in tyre prices
The tyre index increased by 0.4 per cent the last month. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has grown by 4.0 per cent.
Increase in wage index
The wage index has increased by 0.4 per cent during the last month. Over the last 12 months this index increased by 4.0 per cent.
Increased administration costs
The administration costs increased by 0.2 per cent from July to August. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 3.1 per cent.
