Continued increase in transport costs
The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 0.4 per cent from November to December 2007. Over the last twelve months, total costs have increased by 6.0 per cent.
The fuel index increased by 1.5 per cent in December. From December 2006 to December 2007, this sub-index increased by 14.7 per cent.
The index for capital costs increased by 0.8 per cent in December, mainly due to an increase in real interests rates. This index, which is composed by depreciation and amortization, interest costs and annual fees, has increased by 4.4 per cent in the last twelve months.
The sub-index for repair and service costs increased by 0.3 per cent from November to December. In the last twelve months, this index has increased by 4.8 per cent.
The other sub-indices show no change over the last month.
