Increased operating income for ICT in 2014

The operating income for the information and communication section was NOK 221.5 billion in 2014. The value added rose by 3.7 per cent to NOK 100.6 billion.

The division for computer programming, consultancy and related activities, which is the largest division in the information and communication section, had NOK 75.0 billion in operating income; an increase of 5.7 per cent from 2013. The operating costs rose by 6.3 per cent to NOK 71.0 billion in this division, and the operating margin was 5.3 per cent in 2014. The value added was NOK 39.2 billion; an increase of 8.7 per cent from the previous year.

Value added over NOK 100 billion for the first time

In the information and communication section, value added increased by 3.7 per cent from 2013 to 2014, amounting to NOK 100.6 billion. The 16 400 local kind-of-activity units had 92 200 employees; an increase from 89 500 the previous year. The operating income totalled NOK 221.5 billion in 2014, which is an increase of 4.6 per cent from the year before.

Decrease in gross investments

Gross investments for the section as a whole totalled NOK 9.2 billion, compared to NOK 10.5 billion in 2013. The largest division in terms of gross investments is telecommunications, with NOK 7.1 billion. This corresponds to 77 per cent of the total investments in information and communication.
