The value added in the sub-class 'Computer consultancy activities' rose by 8 per cent from 2011 to 2012, and was NOK 19.3 billion. Turnover increased by NOK 1.7 billion to almost NOK 36 billion.

The sub-class 'Computer programming activities' also had an increase in turnover, by around NOK 1.6 billion, up 12.6 per cent from 2011. With an increase of almost NOK 1 billion, the value added increased by 12.8 per cent.

Growth for 'Wireless telecommunications activities'

The turnover in this sub-class rose by NOK 440 million from 2011, which is an increase of 1.4 per cent. The value added, however, increased by NOK 1.4 billion to NOK 13.5 billion. The workforce in the sub-class 'Wired telecommunication activities' had a decrease of around 3.2 per cent in 2012, and on average there were 6 000 employees.

Substantial growth for 'Information service activities'

With a turnover of NOK 10.2 billion in 2012, this division had an increase of nearly NOK 1 billion from 2011. The gross operating surplus rose by NOK 350 million from 2011; an increase of 23.7 per cent.

While the sub-class 'Data processing, hosting and related activities' had an increase in value added by over NOK 320 million, which corresponds to 18.2 per cent, the increase for ‘Web portals’ was only 2.9 per cent - almost NOK 70 million. The number of employees in this sub-class fell by 170, which is 6.6 per cent fewer than in 2011.
