Producer price indices for services, Q3 2011

In the latest quarter, the prices for cleaning activities were almost unchanged, with only a small increase of 0.3 per cent.

Legal, accounting and business consultancy activities

The prices within the activities of legal and accounting have also grown steadily in recent quarters. The prices for legal activities have risen 4.3 per cent in the last year, while the prices for accounting and auditing have grown 3.3 per cent in the same period.

Business consulting had a slightly lower price growth in the 3rd quarter of 2011 compared to the previous quarters. The prices have grown by 2.3 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2010 to the 3rd quarter of 2011, which is the lowest annual growth since 2009.

Still cheaper car rental

The decrease in car rental prices continues for the sixth successive quarter. In the 3rd quarter of 2011, the prices are 2.6 per cent lower than in the same quarter of 2010. Private households, which stand for about 25 per cent of the turnover in this industry, paid 6 per cent less for their cars than a year ago.

Growth in the prices for advertising activities

The prices for advertising activities continue the strong growth that was observed last quarter. In the 3rd quarter of 2011, the prices were 4.7 per cent higher than at the same time last year. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2011, the prices have, however, decreased by 0.7 per cent.

Civil engineering and architectural activities

From the 3rd quarter of 2010 to the 3rd quarter of 2011, consultants in civil engineering have had just a minor increase of 0.5 per cent in their prices. In the same period, the architects had a larger increase; 4.4 per cent. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2011, the prices in civil engineering rose by 1.8 per cent in the 3rd quarter. In this period, the architectural activities’ prices grew by 2.2 per cent.
