Growth in prices for industrial cleaning services

From the third quarter to the fourth quarter of 2006, the prices for industrial cleaning services increased by 1.0 per cent. Prices have increased with 5.5 per cent since the fourth quarter of 2005.

Since the fourth quarter of 2004, the prices have increased by 10.3 per cent. In comparison, the consumer price index increased with 4.3 per cent in the same period. A higher increase in prices for industrial cleaning is due to the labour intensive character of this industry. Hence, the wage developments influence the index largely. Statistics Norway’s wage statistics shows an increase of 4.3 per cent from 2005 to 2006 for the industry.
