Growth in prices for industrial cleaning services

From the 2nd quarter to the 3rd quarter of 2006, the prices for industrial cleaning services increased by 0.9 per cent. Prices increased with 4.4 per cent during the three first quarters of 2006.

Since the 4th quarter of 2004, the prices have increased by 9.2 per cent. In comparison, the consumer price index increased with 4.4 per cent in the same period. The index tells us that the largest increases are between 1st and 2nd quarters. The reason is that most establishments adjust their prices in the 2nd quarter, after the annual wage negotiations.

This is the first time Statistics Norway publishes a price index for industrial cleaning services. The index is quarterly, and the first publication covers statistics from 4th quarter of 2004 to the 3rd quarter of 2006.
