Electricity up, crude oil down

The PIF was unchanged from December 2015 to January 2016. A strong price increase in electricity was offset by a price decline in the group petroleum and petroleum products. The prices of electricity however increased by as much as 37 per cent, and in January 2016 were significantly above the price level of January 2015. A price fall in petroleum and petroleum products was caused by a sharp drop in the international price of crude oil, Brent Blend.
