Continued decline in car rental prices

Prices for car rental declined in the first quarter of 2008. The market paid 1.1 per cent less for car rental than in the same period in 2007.

The trend with falling car rental prices continued into 2008. The foreign tourists in particular benefited from this. This group of customers paid 5.6 per cent less for car rental compared with the first quarter in 2007. However, tourists only accounted for 7.5 per cent of the market.

Business customers experienced a more modest decline and paid 0.9 per cent less in the same time period. For private household customers the prices were virtually unchanged.
