Further increase in building activity
So far in 2010, 14 796 dwellings have been started. This is 4.5 per cent more than the same period in the lowest year 2009.
Building statistics are showing an increasing trend within both the residential and industrial sectors. Registered utility floor space for industrial and public sector purposes increased by more than 20 per cent compared with the same period in 2009.
Building was started on a total of 5.4 million square metres of utility floor space in the first nine months of 2010. This is an increase of over 13 per cent compared with the same period last year.
