Still low level of building of new dwellings
During the first half of 2010, 9 952 dwellings were started - about the same low number as in the previous year.
Compared to the top level in 2006 and 2007, dwelling starts have decreased by nearly 40 per cent. On the other hand, the building statistics show an increasing trend within the category industrial and public sector. During the first half of 2010, registered utility floor space for industrial and public sector purposes increased by 19.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2009.
Building was started on a total of 3 852 000 square metres of utility floor space in the first six months of 2010. This is an increase of 11.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2009.
