Less new dwellings in February
2 280 dwelling starts are registered in February 2005. This is a decrease of 2.8 per cent from the same month in 2004.
Due to a strong increase in dwelling starts in January this year, it is, however, started 17.5 per cent more new dwellings during the first two months of 2005 compared with the corresponding period in 2004. So far a total of 5 326 new dwellings are registered started in 2005.
649 200 square meters of utility floor space were started for dwelling purposes in January and February, an increase of 17.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.
So far in 2005, 690 700 square metres of non-residential buildings has been started. This is 15.6 per cent higher than in the first two months in 2004.
