More new buildings than last year
During the first month of 2005 a total of 780 000 square meters of utility floor space were registered started - up 33.2 per cent from January last year.
383 900 square meters of utility floor space were started for dwelling purposes - an increase of 36.7 per cent compared to January 2004. A total of 3 046 new dwellings were started in January 2005, an increase of 39.3 per cent from January 2004.
For other buildings than dwellings, 295 000 square meters floor space for industrial buildings and
101 100 square meters floor space for holiday properties and private garages were started in January 2005 - an increase of 29.1 and 32.3 per cent respectively compared to January 2004.
