Average paid wages up by 6.9 per cent

More than 2.8 million people received wages and remuneration in 2007, an increase of 89 000 from 2006. The average amount received was NOK 280 500, an increase of 6.9 per cent.

Total wages and remunerations in cash amounted to NOK 788 billion in 2007. This is an increase of NOK 74 billion.

Disbursements of unemployment benefits decreased

94 000 persons received unemployment benefit in 2007, a decrease of 21 per cent from 2006. Total disbursements of unemployment benefit came to NOK 4.4 billion, a decrease of 28.3 per cent from 2006.
