Monthly earnings increased by NOK 1 400

Full-time employees in electricity supply had average monthly earnings of NOK 25 100 at 1 October 2000. This was NOK 1 400 more than at the same time the year before, or an increase of 5.9 per cent.

Basic paid salary amounted to an average of NOK 24 300, an increase of NOK 1 300 or 5.8 per cent from October 2000 to October 2001.

Craft workers: 4.9 per cent increase

Craft workers are the dominant occupational group in electricity supply. This group accounts for nearly half of all full-time employees in the industry. Craft workers had average monthly earnings of roughly NOK 22 100, equivalent to an increase of around NOK 1 000 or 4.9 per cent from the year before.

Professionals and technicians and associated professionals: 8.0 and 9,3 per cent increase

Full-time professionals had monthly earnings of NOK 31 700, an increase of NOK 2 300 or 8.0 per cent form the same time the year before. By comparison technicians and associated professionals had monthly earnings of NOK 27 600, an increase of NOK 2 300 or 9.3 per cent from the year before.

8.0 per cent increase for clerks, service workers and managers

Average monthly earnings for full-time employed clerks and, service workers managers was NOK 22 300, an increase of 8.0 per cent from the year before. In comparison senior officials and managers had monthly earnings of NOK 36 000, an increase of NOK 2 500 or 7.5 per cent.

Estimated annual salary

In 2001 full-time employees in electricity supply had estimated annual earnings of NOK 292 900.

About the statistical basis

The statistics are based on information from sample of enterprises which cover a total of 10 673 full-time employees and 1 084 part-time employees. According to preliminary figures from the national accounts for the 3rd quarter of 2001 the statistics cover approximately 16 500 wage earners in electricity supply.
