Monthly earnings up 2.8 per cent

Full-time employees in municipalities and county municipalities had average monthly earnings, excluding overtime pay, of NOK 36 400 as per 1 December 2011. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 000 or 2.8 per cent.

Monthly earnings for full-time employed women were NOK 35 500, while the corresponding earnings for men were NOK 38 200. This was a year-on-year increase of 2.9 per cent for women and 3.2 per cent for men.

About the statistics

The statistics include information on all full-time and part-time employees with a fixed salary in municipalities and county municipalities as per 1 December 2011. For employees who have more than one job, only their main occupation is included in the statistical basis.

The statistics are based on data collected by the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS). The professional codes follow the Standard Occupational Classification.
