Earnings in municipalities and county authorities1 December 2010

The 2015 wage statistics for all industrial sections and various areas in the public sector will be released collectively on 3 March 2016 in the statistics Earnings of all employees.

Monthly earnings up 5 per cent

Full-time employees in municipalities and county authorities had average monthly earnings, excluding overtime pay, of NOK 35 400 as per 1 December 2010. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 700 or 5.0 per cent.

Monthly earnings for full-time employed women were NOK 34 500, while the corresponding earnings for men were NOK 37 000. This was a year-on-year increase of 5.2 per cent for women and 4.8 per cent for men.

About the statistics

The statistics include information on all full-time and part-time employees with a fixed salary in municipalities and county authorities as per 1 December 2010. For employees who have several jobs, only their main occupation is included in the statistical basis.

The statistics are based on data collected by the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS). The professional codes follow the Standard Occupational Classification.
