Earnings in municipalities and county authorities1 December 2007

The 2015 wage statistics for all industrial sections and various areas in the public sector will be released collectively on 3 March 2016 in the statistics Earnings of all employees.

Monthly earnings up by 5.2 per cent

Full-time employees in municipalities and county municipalities had average monthly earnings of NOK 28 700 per 1 December 2007. This equals an increase of NOK 1 400 or 5.2 per cent from 2006.

Women and men had average monthly earnings of NOK 27 900 and NOK 30 300 respectively. This equals an increase of 5.1 and 5.5 per cent.

Full-time employees with up to four years’ higher education had average monthly earnings of NOK 31 000, an increase of 4.8 per cent from 2006. Full-time employees with more than four years' higher education had average monthly earnings of NOK 37 500, an increase of NOK 5.8 per cent.

About the statistical basis

The statistics include 309 593 employees in municipalities and county municipalities per 1 December 2007. The statistics are based on data collected by the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS). Employees in power production, power supply and teaching personnel in schools are not included in the statistical basis.
