Monthly earnings up NOK 1 600

Full-time employees in municipalities and county municipalities had average monthly earnings of NOK 27 400 per 1 December 2006. This equals an increase of 6.1 per cent from 2005. Part-time employees had average monthly earnings of NOK 25 800, an increase of 6.4 per cent.

About the statistical basis

The statistics include 300 022 employees in municipalities and county municipalities per 1 December 2006. The statistics are based on data from the Staff Administration Information System (PAI) of the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities. Employees in power production, power supply and teaching personnel in schools are not included in the statistical basis.
