Monthly earnings up NOK 800 in ICT

The average earnings of full-time employees in the ICT sector were NOK 36 700 per the third quarter in 2004. This is an increase of NOK 800, or 2.2 per cent, from 2003.

The ICT sector consists of ICT-related industries from the four sections manufacturing, trade, communication and business activities.

Occupational groups

About two out of three full-time employees in ICT are professional or associate professionals with monthly earnings of NOK 40 000 and NOK 34 800 respectively. This is an increase of NOK 800 and NOK 700 from 2003. Among the professionals the computer system designers received NOK 39 000 per month, an increase of NOK 1 400, or 3.6 per cent.

Computer associate professionals working full-time had monthly earnings of NOK 35 500, an increase of NOK 1 600, or 4.8 per cent, from 2003.

For clerks working full-time monthly earnings were NOK 25 700, an increase of NOK 100, or 0.3 per cent. In comparison, senior officials and managers had monthly earnings of NOK 54 200, which is an increase of NOK 2 500, or 4.8 per cent. Here ICT-managers had monthly earnings of NOK 55 800, an increase of NOK 2 400, or 4.5 per cent from 2003.

About the statistical basis

The statistics are based on a sample of enterprises with a total of 36 826 full-time employees per the

third quarter of 2004.

The data for the ICT-statistics are not collected separately. The statistics are based on already existing data and statistics for the sections mentioned above.
