Hotel occupancy up in August

Hotels in Norway saw a five per cent increase in bookings compared with August 1995. The number of overnight stays in August totalled 1.81 million, up from 1.72 million during the same month last year. Norwegian business increased by seven per cent, from 992,000 to 1.06 million bookings. Business from abroad increased three per cent, accounting for 23,000 more reservations.
