Almost 58 000 new enterprises in 2014

A total of 57 865 new enterprises were registered in 2014. This is an increase of 4.7 per cent compared to 2013. A total of 13 657 new enterprises were registered in the fourth quarter of 2014. This is an increase of 3.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.

From 2013 to 2014, the number of new sole proprietorships increased by 5.9 per cent. During the same period, the number of new registered private limited companies increased by 3.9 per cent. Private limited companies accounted for 40.8 per cent of all new enterprises in 2014 and sole proprietorships accounted for 55.7 per cent.

In 2014, most new enterprises were registered within professional, scientific and technical activities (14.1 per cent), construction (13.9 per cent), and retail trade (11.8 per cent).
