A total of 13 236 new enterprises were registered during the 4th quarter of 2013. This is 5.3 per cent more than in the 4th quarter of 2012.

A total of 55 282 new enterprises were registered in 2013, a decrease of 0.2 per cent compared to 2012.

Decreasing number of limited liability companies

The number of new private limited liability companies decreased by 4.8 per cent in 2013 compared to the previous year. 41.1 per cent of the new enterprises in 2013 were private limited liability companies, and 55.1 per cent were sole proprietorships.

Most new enterprises were registered within construction (14.5 per cent) and professional, scientific and technical activities (14.4 per cent). The number of new enterprises within construction decreased by 5.6 per cent from 2012 to 2013.
