13 040 new enterprises

13 040 enterprises were registered in Norway during the second quarter of 2008, a slight increase of 93 compared with the same period in 2007.

Almost 92 per cent of new enterprises are newly established enterprises, whereas the remaining 8 per cent are take-overs.

Figures on new enterprises by economic activity code, legal form, county and municipality can be found in the StatBank. Stock of enterprises by 1 January 2001-2007 and enterprise dropouts in 2001-2006 are also available.
