Sales of motor vehicles up 27 per cent

Compared with the same period last year, sales of motor vehicles increased by NOK 4.3 billion in March and April 2010. This is equivalent to a growth of 27 per cent.

In March and April 2010 the turnover within trade and repair of motor vehicles increased by NOK 5 billion, or 20 per cent, compared to the same period last year. During the first four month this year, the turnover in this Industry increased by 19 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Retail sales for NOK 61 billion

Retail sales excluding motor vehicles rose by NOK 3 billion, or more than 5 per cent, from March and April last year to the same period this year. The turnover in retail sales was NOK 61 billion in March and April 2010. During the first four months of 2010, the retail sales increased by 4.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Wholesale up NOK 8 billion

The turnover in wholesale increased by NOK 8 billion from March and April 2009 to the same period in 2010. This is equivalent to an increase of 7 per cent. During the first four month this year, wholesalers experienced an increase of NOK 11 billion or 5 per cent.
