Retail sales down in September

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales decreased by 0.7 percent from August to September 2018. This follows an increase of 0.4 percent from July to August 2018.

The long-term trend in the retail sales has increased by 3.4 per cent since its turning point in May 2016, however the trend has flattened out over the last few months.

Working-day adjusted

Working-day adjusted figures show that retail sales increased by 0.7 per cent in the period July 2018 – September 2018 compared to the same period in 2017.
