More young men attend short courses

In 2007, about 18 600 attended short courses at Norwegian folk high schools, a decrease of almost 500 compared to the previous year.

Participants aged 50 years and over are still in the majority, but the number of young men aged 19 years and below rose by 35 per cent compared to 2006. The number of participants with foreign citizenship increased by 30 per cent from 2006 to 2007. As in previous years, aesthetic subjects and handicraft and humanities, philosophy and ethics are the most popular courses.
