During second quarter this year, 390 000 tonnes more were transported by lorry across the border than in the corresponding quarter last year. Baltic lorries expanded most.

A total of 3.1 million tonnes of goods were imported and exported by lorries crossing the national border on road during the second quarter of 2010, 14.3 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter last year.

The transport by Norwegian lorries increased by 14.4 per cent and their share of the total border transport remained unchanged at 44.1 per cent. Baltic lorries carried almost 42 per cent more than in the second quarter 2009, and their share of the total border transport grew to 4.2 per cent.
