Norwegian and Swedish lorries carried less

A total of 2.9 million tonnes of goods were transported across the border by lorry during the third quarter of 2008. The Norwegian and Swedish cars’ share of the border transport was reduced.

Norwegian lorries carried 46.3 per cent of the total amount of goods passing the national border by car in the third quarter of 2008. This is 1.5 percentage points less than in the corresponding period last year. Swedish lorries had 27.5 per cent of the transport, a decrease from 29.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2007.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border on road. Import and export by lorry on ferry are not included.
