In this report, we look at revisions in the Monthly National Accounts. We do this by assigning version numbers to the published data and studying the revisions from one version to the next. The purpose of the analysis is to reveal whether the revisions of the monthly figures are systematically going in one direction or another, and to show the magnitude of the revisions.

The results show that seasonally adjusted GDP growth for mainland Norway is typically revised 0.1 percentage point from first to second publication. After that, the audits are mostly small within a twelve-month perspective. Revisions increase after twelve and twenty-four months due to seasonal adjustment effects, and forty months back due to change of base year. The results show that there are no evidence to support that seasonally adjusted GDP growth for mainland Norway is systematically revised either up or down.
