Meat production, 2009

The production of meat from poultry increased by 14 per cent to a total of 95 800 tonnes in 2009, and the quantity of pork by 1 per cent to 124 300 tonnes. Pork accounted for 38 per cent of the total meat production in 2009, while poultry¹ and beef accounted for 29 and 26 per cent respectively.

Since 2005, the production of poultry has increased by nearly 70 per cent, and the production of pork by 10 per cent. In the same period, the quantities of mutton decreased by 8 per cent and of beef by 3 per cent.
