More district heating enterprises

The number of enterprises producing district heating has increased from 35 in 2002 to 41 in 2003.

The gross production of hot water and steam was amounted to 2 920 GWh in 2003. Of the total production 124 GWh were delivered for production of electricity and 469 were heat not distributed. The net production of district heating in 2003 came to 2 327 GWh. 183 GWh of this production were lost in the distribution net and 2 144 GWh were delivered to consumers.

In the production of district heating the use of oil has increased the last two years and the use of electricity declined. This is mainly due to the development in prices of oil and electricity favouring oil in this period.
