Higher electricity prices

The price of electricity faced by households has was 9.7 per cent higher in the middle of the first quarter of 2008 than twelve months earlier. The manufacturing industry has also seen a rise in electricity prices in the same period.

Electricity prices, grid rent and taxes for households, quarterly

The average price of electric energy for households was 25.1 øre per kilowatt hour (kWh), excluding grid rent and taxes, in the middle of the second quarter of 2008. This is 9.7 per cent higher than one year ago.

For the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electricity was 23.6 øre per kWh. This is 13.0 per cent higher than one year ago. For energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electric energy was 20.9 øre perkWh excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 32.7 per cent higher than one year ago.

The average price of electric energy for the service industry was 21.7 øre per kWh in the middle of the second quarter (week 19), excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 6.2 per cent less than one year ago.

The measuring period for the second quarter of 2008 was week 19. The average elspot price for the entire quarter was 10-12 øre per kWh higher than the elspot price in the measuring period.
