Higher electricity prices in the first quarter

Electricity prices, grid rent and taxes for households, quarterly

The average yearly price for households with spot price contracts has been lower than the traditionally more common contract based on variable prices (not tied to the spot price) in every year since the quarterly price statistics were started in 1998. Partly because of this, spot price contracts have become increasingly popular in recent years.

Higher price for the service industry

The average price of electric energy for the service industry was 34.5 øre/kWh in the middle of the first quarter (week 6), excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 23.6 per cent higher than one year ago.

Prices of electric energy, taxes and grid rent excluded. Øre/kWh

For the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electricity was 27.8 øre/kWh. For energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electric energy was 20.0 øre/kWh excluding taxes and grid rent.

The measuring period for the first quarter of 2008 was week 6. The average elspot price for the entire quarter corresponds well with the elspot price in the measuring period.
