Higher electricity prices

The price of electric energy for households increased 9.9 per cent the third quarter this year compared to the second quarter. The average price of electric energy for households was 53.3 øre/kWh (NOK) this period, value added tax included. Total price for electric energy and grid rent taxes included increased by 4.9 per cent to 93.9 øre/kWh.

The average price of electric energy for the service industry was 42.1øre/kWh, exclusive taxes and grid rent. This is 29.8 per cent higher than in the second quarter.

For the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electricity was 30.6 øre/kWh. This is 19.2 per cent higher than in the second quarter. For energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry the average price of electric energy was 12.3 øre/kWh excluding taxes and grid rent.

The measuring period for the third quarter 2006 was week number 32 (7 August - 13 August).
