Electricity prices, Q4 2001

The price of electric energy for households in the fourth quarter last year was 20.7 øre/kWh, taxes excluded. This is 6 per cent lower compared with the third quarter last year, but as much as 35 per cent higher than in the fourth quarter of 2000.

The price of electric energy for services was 18.7 øre/kWh in the fourth quarter last year, taxes excluded. This is a 4.7 per cent decline from the third quarter, and 30.2 per cent higher than the fourth quarter of 2000. The average for the whole of 2001 was 19.3 øre/kWh, an increase by 6 øre/kWh from the year before. Manufacturing, excluding energy-intensive manufacturing and pulp and paper industry, paid on average 18.2 øre/kWh in the fourth quarter of 2001. For the whole of 2001 the average price of electric energy for this consumer group was 18.2 øre/kWh. In 2000 the price was 13.9 øre/kWh.
