Oil FTE cost NOK 1.35 million

The average cost of one FTE in oil and gas extraction and mining was NOK 1.35 million in 2016. This corresponds to a 11.5 per cent increase from 2012. The average for all industries as a whole was NOK 761 000.

Labour costs vary between the different industries, according to new figures from the statistics Labour costs. The lowest average labour cost in 2016 was NOK 463 500, which was in accommodation and food service activities.

Labour costs include both direct and indirect costs of employees. Direct costs are wages and salaries, while indirect costs include employers` social security contributions, pension plans and insurance, payments in kind and training costs, as well as other miscellaneous costs.
