Increase in full-time positions
In the second quarter of 2019 there were 2 719 000 employed persons in Norway. This was a year-on-year increase of 22 000. The increase was in full-time positions.
Measured as the employment rate, this increase was 0.2 percentage points, from 67.6 in the second quarter last year, to 67.8 this year. The increase is outside the margin of error in the LFS. The last time the employment rate was higher in the second quarter was in 2015. The lowest point for the employment rate during the period for which we have we have comparable data was in 2017.
The increase in the employment has been almost exclusively in full time positions, and mainly among women.
