An optimal sample allocation technique was used, together with new register employment status stratification, resulting in over-sampling of unemployed persons. This leads to better precision in estimates of the unemployment rate, a key output indicator for the survey. A new age-group (75-89 years) was included in the population definition and is sampled from in a separate stratification process. The overall sample size was adjusted down to allocate some resources to a sub-sample wave of all household members. This allows required data deliveries of household statistics not able to be met earlier. A supplementation plan was established to ensure all age-groups are represented in the survey in each wave.
