Conditional imprisonment

Conditional imprisonment (postponing the execution of a sentence) means that a prison sentence is not served if the court's conditions during a fixed period are adhered to. This normally entails a probationary period of two years where no new offences should be committed. Further terms could be given, such as drug testing or follow-up programmes for juvenile offenders.
