Sole proprietorships and private limited companies still in the majority

Sole proprietorships and private limited companies were the dominant legal form of enterprises in 2014.

However, the private limited companies – 200 480 in total – had the largest percentage increase from the previous year by 3 per cent. The number of sole proprietorships was 220 740, which was an increase of 2.6 per cent. Combined, these forms of business organisation represented 93 per cent of all enterprises in 2015, the same percentage as in 2014.
