Increase in inward and outward settlement flows

Incoming bank settlement flows increased by NOK 99 billion from the third quarter of 2017 to the fourth quarter of 2017. Outgoing settlement also increased from the previous quarter; up by NOK 79 billion.

Settlements from foreign countries to Norwegian non-financial enterprises and private persons amounted to NOK 646 billion in the fourth quarter of 2017. Compared with the same quarter previous year this was an increase of 6.6 per cent. Outgoing settlements from Norwegian non-financial enterprises and private persons showed a decrease of 1.1 per cent compared with the same quarter of 2016. The total outgoing settlements sent abroad reached NOK 627 billion in the fourth quarter of 2017.
